Dust Suppression System

Acovent suppression devices are systems designed to eliminate suspended dust in environments where it is necessary to contain dust emission into the atmosphere. The operating principle is based on a finely atomized water jet transported over a distance by an air jet generated by a fan.

The water droplets tend to capture solid dust particles along their trajectory and cause them to fall to the ground by gravity. Knowing the type of area to be covered with the "fog," the optimal nozzle type is chosen to generate droplets that "encapsulate" the pollutant particle. The diameter of the droplets is selected based on the granularity of the dust to be suppressed. The droplets emitted by the nozzles are created to have a precise size to facilitate the capture of dust particles.

The humidification obtained with these water droplets, in the order of microns, allows the covering of the deposit on only the surface layer, creating a protective film that inhibits the transport of dust. At the core of the suppression systems, ACOVENT has conducted an in-depth study on the theory of air jets expanding in an isobaric environment, as well as a detailed study on the fluid dynamics and mechanical design of the system.
A meteorological system can be integrated into the suppression system to detect wind speed and direction, allowing the programming of the fan's direction and elevation for the water jet as needed.
